The property has its own private Nature Trail that takes you through a unique Culm Grassland. This has its own complex ecosystem supporting many rare & endangered plants & animals including Marsh Fritillary Butterflies & Orchids as well as traditional wildlife such as Deer, Otters and many birds.
This provides a pleasurable experience for anyone interested in wildlife, conservation or just the peace & quiet of the countryside. Beyond the farm the coast, Dartmoor & other attractions are within easy reach. Southcombe is also the home of a small, but successful thoroughbred stud farm whose offspring are destined for the racecourse & our guests have an opportunity to be introduced to our thoroughbred horses.
