Lusty Glaze is a privately owned Newquay beach, with beautiful golden sands sheltered by dramatic 200ft cliffs. It can be accessed from neighbouring beaches or by walking down the cliff top path. The beach is on the main coastal footpath stretching north.
The beach is popular, despite its close proximity to town, it is quieter than some of the other beaches in Newquay. It is possible to walk to neighbouring beaches at low tide. The Cornish Coastal Path runs through the town nearby and the St Piran cycle trail runs within a mile of the beach. There are some rock pools at the beach.
Charmouth West, otherwise known as 'The Jurassic Coast', is an extremely scenic beach that stretches for two miles with intervening rock pools between Black Venn and Golden Cap. A heritage coast centre with many interesting local walks.
Dartmoor is also the largest expanse of unglaciated upland in Great Britain and the largest granite surface in England. It has wild open moorland, granite tors and wooded river valleys. At its edge is a landscape of small fields enclosed by stone walls and hedge banks.
This is a popular beach for families with rock pools and a tidal swimming pool for the children. It’s also a beautiful area of coastline with sea views towards Lundy Island and South Wales.
