From the extensive pine woodlands and heathlands in the Wareham and Ringwood areas, to the beautiful beech woodlands of Cranborne Chase, the forests of Dorset are a delight to discover.

Covering the whole of the county, the Forestry Commission's woodlands are both close to the coast and spread throughout Hardy's Wessex. Dorset is also home to the Forestry Commission's most popular site at Moors Valley Country Park.

Activities in the forests include walking, cycling, fishing and birdwatching. Facilities include toilets, wheelchair access routes, cafe and parking.
