This area consists of Savernake Forest and its two significant outliers, West Woods and Collingbourne. All are old woods which are predominantly broadleaf and in particular beech.

West Woods consists almost entirely of beech trees and becomes very popular in late spring due to the fantastic displays of bluebells which carpet the forest floor.

There are regular events in the forest including a Bat Walks in May and August. There is an area of barbecues, picnics and parking is available.
