Nature reserve lying 18km off North Devon Coast.

Lundy is a small island lying 18km north of Hartland Point on the North Devon coast. The Lundy No Take Zone (NTZ) was set up in 2003 to enhance the conservation of marine habitats and species.

Lundy Island is the only area in the UK where no living natural resources, including lobsters, crab and fish, can be taken from the sea/area. The reserves consists of sea and seabed surrounding the island up to the high water mark. This includes sea caves, sandbanks and some of the finest examples of rocky reef in the UK.

There is a huge diversity of marine life, including many warm water animals and plants at the northerly limit of their range and an important breeding colony of grey seals.

For staying visitors there are weekly talks, wildlife walks, rocky shore rambles and in the summer snorkel safaris.
