Set on the South West coastal path, overlooking the glittering bay of the Fal estuary, Pendennis castle commands magnificent views of the town, sea, countryside and blue skies. Discover over 450 years of history, which can be traced from its origins as one of Henry VIII's strongholds to its last military role as a secret Second World War base.

The everyday life of the garrison at Pendennis is brought to life in the War Shelter, whilst the drama of Pendennis at War is in the Barrack block displays. Also explore the 16th Century keep, with its lofty battlements and mighty Tudor gun-deck. There is also the First World War Guardhouse, complete with cells. It is the ideal venue for a great day out, soaking up the atmosphere at a relaxed pace.
