Places to eat and drink in South West England
The Hollies Hotel, , Somerset
With its original oak beams, imposing fireplace and natural slate and wood floor, we offer a beautful setting for a quiet drink and a wide range of fireside meals.
Our Restaurant occupies a major part of the original Period house built in the 17th century. The 60 seat oak-beamed restaurant, lit by candle light in the evenings, retains many of its original features. Where possible, locally produced foods are used in all of our dishes. Diners can choose from a varied range of English and French cuisine, which is complemented by a wine list of fifty carefully, selected wines.
The evening menu is freshly prepared daily with new and exciting dishes introduced regularly. Diners enjoy the space and elegance of our main Dining Room, with views over the estuary that are exhilarating in the morning and relaxing at sunset.
The Rising sun is justifiably proud of its reputation for excellent cuisine. This reputation has to be accredited to our excellent Chef, Mrs Ann Long, whose dedication to an extremely high standard of cuisine has earned her the accolade of being the only woman Master Chef in the whole of the Westcountry.
